i read this phrase today. “what you are will show in what you do.” i want you to know that, jude. actions speak louder than words, son. remember that. be the man that god created you to be: honest, loving, determined. be committed to what is right, jude. love god and love others because what you are will show in what you do.
you are such a little man. you amaze me every day, honestly. we cut your paci with scissors last week. we told you that you wore it out. you were ok with it. you still take it at night, but usually just to hold. sometimes you wake up in the night and can’t go back so sleep as easily without your paci.
you have such an imagination and i think you get scared sometimes at night. you sleep on our floor in your sleeping bag every now and then. meme said that she and bampy did that with auntie meg and it didn’t last long. its kind of fun sleeping in the same room, as long as its not becoming a routine!
last night you ended up on our floor. you woke up while we were getting ready for work. you just laid and snuggled with rudolph. i went in to get lucy and you asked if she could come lay down next to you. you are always super pumped to see her in the morning! you beg me to go into her room, even if she’s still sleeping.
the other day you, lucy and i were driving in the car. i had my glasses on because i’ve been trying to wear them while driving. i turned around as we were backing out of the driveway. you just looked at me with this intense stare. i asked, “why are you looking at me like that?” you said, “mama, i’m looking at you like that because you are so pretty!” did that ever melt my heart! we went to lowe’s and you and lucy drove the race car. you loved sharing the wheel with lulu. you kept leaning over to kiss her cheek and said “i love you!” at least twice. then we went to mcdonald’s and you got your very own green shamrock shake. you loved it.
your new phrase lately is “cat’s got my teeth!”
i was sick a couple weeks ago. i was laying in bed one night while daddy put lucy to bed. you came in to check on me. you said, “mama, do you want my sleeping bag? will that help you feel better? do you want my paci or anything?” it was so kind of you.
i love it when you use new words that you’ve learned. you told me recently that you were “shocked” when your car broke. we were going downstairs the other morning and you said “don’t you realize that i can’t carry rudolph and my blanket?”
i just adore you, jude. you are my pride.
i love you!
